My name is Evelin. My birthday is August 27, 2017. I live in Tegucigalpa Honduras in the community Land of the Father with my parents. I am the youngest of three siblings. My brother, José Noel Gaitan, is also in the C4C Child Sponsorship program.

The Context
Evelin’s world.
Evelin lives in the rural highlands of Tegucigalpa, Honduras — in the heart of Central America’s Northern Triangle. She walks hours to reach school when the roads are passable.
In rural Honduras, 48% of children are chronically malnourished. Hurricanes have displaced hundreds of thousands. Families here live in one-room adobe homes with corrugated roofing, farming coffee on hillside plots with hand tools.
