Common questions

Everything you want to know.

How sponsorship works, where your $40 goes, and what to expect as part of the C4C family.

Choose a child from one of our four communities — Ghana, Nicaragua, Honduras, or Belarus. Commit to $40 a month through a simple, secure checkout. Your sponsorship provides daily meals, education, medical support, and clean water. You'll receive updates on your child's progress and can visit your dashboard anytime to see your impact.

Your sponsorship covers meals, school fees and supplies, medical support, and community development like clean water wells. We've been on the ground since 2009 — donations are tracked and outcomes are real.

Yes. You'll receive updates and photos, and you can send letters and photos. Many sponsors say the letters are the best part.

Sponsorship continues as long as the child is in the program — typically through their school years. You can pause or stop at any time, and we'll work to match the child with a new sponsor.

Yes. Community For Change is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. You'll receive a tax receipt for all donations.

We work with local community leaders and schools in each region to identify children whose families can't afford school fees, medical support, or consistent meals. Every child in the program lives in a community where C4C has an established presence.

We understand circumstances change. If you need to pause or cancel your sponsorship, just let us know. We'll work immediately to find a new sponsor for your child so there's no gap in their care.

We're small by design. We work in four countries with deep, long-term relationships — not broad, shallow programs. Our founder adopted his son from Vea, Ghana. Donations are accounted for and each child is known by name.

We keep overhead as low as possible. The majority of every dollar goes directly to program services — meals, education, medical support, and community infrastructure. We publish our financials and welcome any questions about how funds are used.

Absolutely. Many sponsors support two or three children, sometimes across different countries. Each sponsorship is $40/month per child.

We currently work in 4 countries: Ghana, Belarus, Nicaragua, and Honduras.

Browse our children page, find a child whose story speaks to you, and click 'Sponsor.' You'll set up a monthly donation of $40 and receive your first update within a few weeks.

Research consistently shows that child sponsorship programs improve educational outcomes, health, and future earnings. A landmark study by Bruce Wydick at the University of San Francisco found that sponsored children were significantly more likely to complete secondary school and hold salaried employment as adults.
