My name is Ruth. My birthday is June 9, 2015. I live in Tegucigalpa Honduras in the community Land of the Fathers with my mom. I lost my dad in an accident. I like school and learning new skills. I have dreams of someday being a principal of the school.

The Context
Ruth’s world.
Ruth lives in the rural highlands of Tegucigalpa, Honduras — in the heart of Central America’s Northern Triangle. She walks hours to reach school when the roads are passable.
In rural Honduras, 48% of children are chronically malnourished. Hurricanes have displaced hundreds of thousands. Families here live in one-room adobe homes with corrugated roofing, farming coffee on hillside plots with hand tools.
