My name is Rajiah. My birthday is March 19, 2018. I live in Vea, Ghana, with my family. I like to help my teacher sweep and clean her classroom. I hope to become a nurse someday.

The Context
Rajiah’s world.
Rajiah lives in Vea, a farming village in Ghana’s Upper East Region — one of the poorest areas in West Africa. She attends school here, walking along unpaved roads through the savanna each morning.
In Vea, families depend on a single rainy season — just three months — to grow an entire year’s food. Only 9% of people in the district live within walking distance of clean water. The groundwater itself is contaminated with fluoride levels above WHO safety limits.
