Meet Jefferson
In Jefferson’s own words.
My name is Jefferson. My birthday is August 21, 2015. I live in Honduras with my family.
“Jefferson has a brother, Jonathan Reyes, who is also in the C4C Child Sponsorship program.”
The Context
Jefferson’s world.
Jefferson lives in the rural highlands of Tegucigalpa, Honduras — in the heart of Central America’s Northern Triangle. He walks hours to reach school when the roads are passable.
In rural Honduras, 48% of children are chronically malnourished. Hurricanes have displaced hundreds of thousands. Families here live in one-room adobe homes with corrugated roofing, farming coffee on hillside plots with hand tools.
Jefferson has a sponsor.
Someone already walks with Jefferson. Other children in the program are still waiting for a name to say yes.
