My name is Fuseini, and my birthday is July 7, 2018. I live in Vea, Ghana. My favorite subject is math, and I love to draw. When I grow up, I want to become a soldier.

The Context
Fuseini’s world.
Fuseini lives in Vea, a farming village in Ghana’s Upper East Region — one of the poorest areas in West Africa. He attends school here, walking along unpaved roads through the savanna each morning.
In Vea, families depend on a single rainy season — just three months — to grow an entire year’s food. Only 9% of people in the district live within walking distance of clean water. The groundwater itself is contaminated with fluoride levels above WHO safety limits.
