Meet Dominica
In Dominica’s own words.
My name is Dominica. My birthday is August 8, 2016. I live in Vea, Ghana, with my family. I love drawing, and my favorite subject is English. I would like to be a doctor when I grow up.
“Dominica wants to be a doctor when she grows up, and she loves to draw.”

The Context
Dominica’s world.
Dominica lives in Vea, a farming village in Ghana’s Upper East Region — one of the poorest areas in West Africa. She attends school here, walking along unpaved roads through the savanna each morning.
In Vea, families depend on a single rainy season — just three months — to grow an entire year’s food. Only 9% of people in the district live within walking distance of clean water. The groundwater itself is contaminated with fluoride levels above WHO safety limits.
Sponsor Dominica.
Your sponsorship of $40 per month helps provide Dominica with access to education, nutritious food, clean water, and medical support — and invests in the entire Vea community that surrounds her.
