Meet Salam
In Salam’s own words.
My name is Salam and my birthday is May 31, 2020. I live in Vea, Ghana, with my family. English is my favorite class at school, and I also love moulding. Outside of school, I like playing the game ludo, and I would like to be a soldier when I grow up.
“My favorite animal is a cow.”

The Context
Salam’s world.
Salam lives in Vea, a farming village in Ghana’s Upper East Region — one of the poorest areas in West Africa. He attends school here, walking along unpaved roads through the savanna each morning.
In Vea, families depend on a single rainy season — just three months — to grow an entire year’s food. Only 9% of people in the district live within walking distance of clean water. The groundwater itself is contaminated with fluoride levels above WHO safety limits.
Sponsor Salam.
Your sponsorship of $40 per month helps provide Salam with access to education, nutritious food, clean water, and medical support — and invests in the entire Vea community that surrounds him.
