Meet Priscilla
In Priscilla’s own words.
My name is Priscilla. My birthday is November 19, 2014. I live in the village of Vea, Ghana, where I attend school.
The Context
Priscilla’s world.
Priscilla lives in Vea, a farming village in Ghana’s Upper East Region — one of the poorest areas in West Africa. She attends school here, walking along unpaved roads through the savanna each morning.
In Vea, families depend on a single rainy season — just three months — to grow an entire year’s food. Only 9% of people in the district live within walking distance of clean water. The groundwater itself is contaminated with fluoride levels above WHO safety limits.

Someone already walks with Priscilla. Other children in the program are still waiting for a name to say yes.
