Meet Patience
In Patience’s own words.
My name is Patience and my birthday is August 12th. I live in Vea, Ghana. When I grow up, I want to be a fire service person.
“Patience is a strong girl and a fast runner.”
The Context
Patience’s world.
Patience lives in Vea, a farming village in Ghana’s Upper East Region — one of the poorest areas in West Africa. She attends school here, walking along unpaved roads through the savanna each morning.
In Vea, families depend on a single rainy season — just three months — to grow an entire year’s food. Only 9% of people in the district live within walking distance of clean water. The groundwater itself is contaminated with fluoride levels above WHO safety limits.
Sponsor Patience.
Your sponsorship of $40 per month helps provide Patience with access to education, nutritious food, clean water, and medical support — and invests in the entire Vea community that surrounds her.
