My name is Mugadus. My birthday is April 13, 2019. I live in the village of Vea, Ghana, where I attend school. I am also receiving tutoring support to build reading skills.
The Context
Mugadus’s world.
Mugadus lives in Vea, a farming village in Ghana’s Upper East Region — one of the poorest areas in West Africa. He attends school here, walking along unpaved roads through the savanna each morning.
In Vea, families depend on a single rainy season — just three months — to grow an entire year’s food. Only 9% of people in the district live within walking distance of clean water. The groundwater itself is contaminated with fluoride levels above WHO safety limits.
