My name is Maykeling and my birthday is June 19th. I live in Nicaragua with my family. I have 3 siblings: Miguel, Jaquelin, and Meybeling. My favorite color is pink. English is my favorite class at school. In my free time, I like to play soccer and spend time with my friends.

Maykeling lives in Granada, Nicaragua — one of the oldest colonial cities in the Americas. Behind the painted facades and cobblestone streets, families in the surrounding barrios survive on less than $10 a day.
63% of Nicaraguans live in poverty. In the barrios where Maykeling lives, tropical downpours turn roads to mud and make schools unreachable for weeks. 19% of children under five have developmental delays from malnutrition.
