My name is Lordina and my birthday is February 4, 2015. I live in Vea, Ghana, with my family. Math is my favorite class at school and I also love reading storybooks. Outside of school, I like skipping rope, and I would like to be a nurse when I grow up.

The Context
Lordina’s world.
Lordina lives in Vea, a farming village in Ghana’s Upper East Region — one of the poorest areas in West Africa. She attends school here, walking along unpaved roads through the savanna each morning.
In Vea, families depend on a single rainy season — just three months — to grow an entire year’s food. Only 9% of people in the district live within walking distance of clean water. The groundwater itself is contaminated with fluoride levels above WHO safety limits.
