My name is Grace. I live in Vea, Ghana, with my family. My birthday is September 29, 2017. I love drawing, and my favorite subject is Science. I also love donkeys. When I get older, I want to become a nurse.

The Context
Grace’s world.
Grace lives in Vea, a farming village in Ghana’s Upper East Region — one of the poorest areas in West Africa. She attends school here, walking along unpaved roads through the savanna each morning.
In Vea, families depend on a single rainy season — just three months — to grow an entire year’s food. Only 9% of people in the district live within walking distance of clean water. The groundwater itself is contaminated with fluoride levels above WHO safety limits.
