My name is Edina. My birthday is November 11, 2018. I live in Vea, Ghana with my family. My favorite animal is a sheep. My favorite class in school is English. When I am not in school, I love skipping rope and writing stories.

Edina’s world.
Edina lives in Vea, a farming village in Ghana’s Upper East Region — one of the poorest areas in West Africa. She attends school here, walking along unpaved roads through the savanna each morning.
In Vea, families depend on a single rainy season — just three months — to grow an entire year’s food. Only 9% of people in the district live within walking distance of clean water. The groundwater itself is contaminated with fluoride levels above WHO safety limits.
